West Ham United manager David Moyes seems to rate Arthur Masuaku highly.
The former Everton and Manchester United manager has revealed that he and his coaching staff worked with Masuaku while he was on the sidelines.
The 24-year-old, who can operate as a left-back or as a left-winger, recently returned from a six-game suspension.
Masuaku has been on the books of West Ham since the summer of 2016 when he joined from Olympiakos for a transfer fee reported by Sky Sports to be worth £6 million.
Moyes has also suggested that West Ham need two more wins in order to guarantee their survival in the Premier League for one more season at least.
“My belief is that we need two more wins to be sure – perhaps even two wins and a draw,” Moyes wrote in The London Evening Standard.
“I’ve always thought that if you win 10 games in a Premier League season, then you will be safe because you’ll also pick up points with draws. We’ve won eight so, in my head, I believe we will need two more.”
“It was good to have Arthur back,” added Moyes. “He gives us some balance on that left-hand side and while he has been out we’ve worked hard with him on his delivery.”
Avoiding relegation
West Ham are still in danger of getting relegated to the Championship at the end of the season.
The London club are just five points above the relegation zone, and they need to do whatever they have to to get to 40 points.
It is going to be tough for the Hammers this weekend, as they will face top-four chasing Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.
