West Ham were unlucky to lose 1-0 to Tottenham on Saturday.
Lukasz Fabianski has singled out Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris for his performance against West Ham United on Saturday afternoon, when speaking to his club’s official website.
Summer signing Fabianski, 33, has impressed since moving to east London from Swansea City, becoming the club’s number one goalkeeper over Spaniard Adrian without any hesitation.
He failed to keep out Erik Lamela’s header, who got on the end of an excellent cross from Moussa Sissoko. But it was Frenchman Lloris that won all three points, pulling off four magnificent saves to deny West Ham.
Poland international Fabianski put rivalry aside between Spurs and West Ham to applaud his goalkeeping counterpart, who kept out Marko Arnautovic multiple times with an excellent saves.
“Hugo Lloris pulled off some great saves in the second half when we really pushed for the equaliser,” Fabianski said.
“We created some decent chances and we can be quite pleased with the performance and the way we tried to get back into the game, but at the end it wasn’t our day when it came to converting our chances.
“So, fair play to Spurs and Hugo Lloris for their performance. For us, I think we just have to keep pushing and continue to keep working as we did today. We will be rewarded for that in the future.”
The Hammers have struggled under Manuel Pellegrini this far after spending plenty of money on the likes of Felipe Anderson, Issa Diop, Andriy Yarmolenko and plenty more. They sit way down in 14th, winning two of just nine league games.
West Ham travel to the King Power Stadium on Saturday evening to face Claude Puel’s Leicester City, who lost to Arsenal on Monday night 3-1.
