West Ham United have extended Robert Snodgrass’s contract.
What a turnaround it’s been for Robert Snodgrass at West Ham United.
Signed for £10 million in 2017 [The Sun], it took 18 months for the Scottish winger to establish himself in East London but he has most certainly done that now.
Snodgrass, who was loaned to Aston Villa for the season only six months after joining West Ham, was brilliant under Manuel Pellegrini last term.
He was so impressive, in fact, that the Irons have signed him up to a new one-year deal as a reward for his form – and it’s a smart move.
It’s a smart decision because not only is Snodgrass just 31 and still have a few good years left in the tank, but now he doesn’t need to be worrying about what the future holds.
Had West Ham not extended his contract, he would’ve gone into the new season with only a year left on his previous deal and not knowing where he stood.
But this is a big reminder that he’s a big player for Pellegrini and it’ll give him the peace of mind which can enable him to maintain his excellent form and simply pick up where he left off last year.
