West Ham United are interested in snapping up Genk winger Mike Tresor and have made contact over a potential deal.

Mike Tresor is emerging as a key West Ham United target for the final stages of the summer transfer window.

That is according to Belgian reporter Sacha Tavolieri, who reports that ‘things are moving’ for Tresor and his potential exit.

It’s stated that West Ham have made their first move for Tresor by initiating talks with his representatives.

The problem for West Ham is that they must first resolve the situation surrounding Lucas Paqueta – in more ways than one.

Manchester City have been keen on signing Paqueta but the deal is certainly on hold right now due to an investigation into potential betting breaches involving the Brazilian.

West Ham need to figure out what is going on with Paqueta but are keen to make progress on a Tresor deal.

The Hammers are allegedly planning to make contact with Genk soon enough with Tresor seemingly a key target for Tim Steidten.

Who is West Ham United target Mike Tresor?

Tresor hails from Antwerp in Belgium and spent time in the youth ranks of Tubize and Anderlecht.

Tresor decided to leave Belgium in 2018 as he chased first-team football with NEC Nijmegen over in the Netherlands.

Seven goals in 29 games in the Dutch second division saw Tresor earn a loan move to Willem II, which became permanent in 2020.

Tresor was on the move again in 2021 though as Genk handed him a return to Belgian football – and that has been a masterstroke.

The 24-year-old racked up a staggering 24 assists last season, breaking the Pro League record and winning the Player of the Year award in the process.

Capable of playing out wide or as a number 10, Tresor has been a creative force and West Ham may believe that he can bring that excellence to the Premier League.

Tresor now has two Belgian caps to his name and there will be more to come as West Ham look into a deal.
