Should West Ham have moved for Cristian Pavon?

West Ham’s spending blitz failed to pay early dividends as they were thrashed by Liverpool on the opening day of the season.
On the same weekend, a player they were linked with signing in the summer, Cristian Pavon, played a starring role for his current club.
Pavon, 22, featured at the World Cup for Argentina and has been talked up as a future superstar.
He struck the winner for Boca Juniors in their opening game of the season against Talleres, a 1-0 victory.

Boca Juniors wanted a high price for him AS report he has a whopping buyout clause of £37.5 million.
This was good reason for the Hammers to back off, and West Ham moved for Felipe Anderson instead.
Pavon’s winning goal at the weekend shows that he is still worth the club keeping an eye on heading into future transfer windows if he can keep up the same form.
