Are West Ham United going to miss out on another striker?

West Ham United fans are disappointed to miss out on Maxi Gomez.
The Uruguayan striker has signed for Valencia and it leaves West Ham back at square one after spending much of the summer trying to recruit Gomez.
The good news is that there’s other fish in the sea. The bad news is that the Irons might be missing out on another target soon.
Manuel Pellegrini’s side have been linked with Borja Iglesias since the Gomez move collapsed.
But Marca have reported that Real Betis are also keen and the Spanish report claims that they’re ready to pay £27 million – £2 million more than his release clause – and that Espanyol are ‘ready to accept’.
It’s a big statement of intent by the Spanish side if it’s true and, if you’re Iglesias, you’d have to be impressed by the determination.
The report from Marca adds that West Ham were ‘unwilling’ to pay Gomez’s £50 million release clause and if they don’t show Iglesias that they’re desperate to sign him, he could be another striker that Pellegrini misses out on.
