West Ham United have been linked with an 18-year-old and a 21-year-old goalkeeper.

The Express claimed on Wednesday night that West Ham United boss David Moyes is interested in signing Luxembourg midfielder Vincent Thill and FC Twente goalkeeper Joel Drommel this summer.
Thill is only 18 and has two senior league appearances for Metz under his belt, while 21-year-old Drommel has only been a first-team regular with the Eredivisie side since December.
Given how inexperienced both are, you wonder if the West Ham manager should focus on signing proven, established players if the Irons survive relegation from the Premier League this season.

There is nothing wrong with signing young players, providing that your best XI is very strong, and that doesn’t exactly apply to a United side who have been in and around the relegation zone since August.
If they are to avoid another disappointing season next term, the Scottish manager needs quality and lots of it, not players who might be brilliant in four or five years. With Domingos Quina and Toni Martinez, the club already have plenty of them.
Thill and Drommel may be world beaters in the future, but if we’re honest, neither of them are going to transform Moyes’s side and have the East Londoners competing for a European spot next season.

That will definitely be the goal for West Ham next season and how realistic that is hinges on their summer transfer activity.
Fans would have no problem with Thill or Drommel so long as their manager signs a host of tried-and-tested players, but if the two youngsters are signed instead of two players who can help the Hammers in the short term and long term then that might be a concern.
