Hammers legend Tony Gale wrote his regular column for the club’s official website, and shared something that a couple of Stoke players told him recently, which should subsequently give Slaven Bilic’s side a boost heading into Saturday’s game.

West Ham head into the game in in 14th position in the table, one point and three places behind the Potters, and a win will be vitally important to the East London outfit’s hopes of finishing inside the top 10.

They have been on a decent run of late, however, picking up five points from their last three outings, with the mood emanating from the camp entirely different to the one that had enveloped the club since the turn of the new year.

And Gale, who made 368 appearances for the Hammers, shared something that should give his former side an extra bit of hope as they head to the Potteries this weekend, when writing his column for WHUFC.com:

“I spoke to a couple of the boys up there and they’ve been having a bit of stick off the crowd, so hopefully we can use that for us, that maybe they are under a little bit of pressure.”

Whatever happens this season, Bilic has a lot of work to do in the summer, if he hopes to guide his Hammers side back into contention for the Europa League spots.

West Ham’s summer transfer business was poor to say the least, and has led to their underwhelming performances this season.

The Croatian must right those wrongs at the end of this current campaign, and give the loyal Hammers fanbase something to shout about next term.
