Tottenham Hotspur have begun their Premier League campaign in impressive style, and West Ham United legend Martin Allen is backing them for a title push.
Writing his column for the Daily Mail, Hammers legend Martin Allen offered high praise for Spurs, and labeled them as genuine title contenders after their impressive start to the season.
Mauricio Pochettino’s men have taken 17 points from their fist seven league games, and remain the only unbeaten team in the English top-flight.

Allen, who made 326 league appearances for Queens Park Rangers and West Ham respectively, explained how he expects Spurs to go one step further than just merely challenging for the league title, when writing his column for the Daily Mail:
“Their performance against Manchester City was outstanding and if they can maintain those levels I’m sure they will be able to go the extra yard to not only challenge for the Premier League title — but to become champions.”
He then highlighted three players whom he believes could be the key difference for the Lilywhites this term:
“The forward Son Heung-min has gone up a notch after playing second fiddle to Kane. New signing Victor Wanyama has added extra tenacity and pressing to their central midfield and Moussa Sissoko on the right has added power and pace. The whole squad look extremely fit, well-organised and focused.”
Tottenham’s Son Heung-min
Son has been a revelation for Spurs this season, and his form began to pick up when, ironically, rumours began to surface pertaining to a potential exit from White Hart Lane.
The South Korean has contributed five goals and two assists in six outings for Tottenham this term, and has more than made up for what his side are missing during the absence of Harry Kane.
Next up for Pochettino’s men is a trip to the Hawthorns to take on West Bromwich Albion in the Premier League on Saturday.
