West Ham jump ahead of Arsenal and Barcelona
Uefa have published their updated club coefficient standings after the 2023-24 season, and it is great news for West Ham fans.
The charts show that West Ham have risen to 16th in the charts, ahead of some of Europe’s biggest clubs.
London rivals Arsenal sit below them in 19th place, while Barcelona, Juventus, AC Milan and Ajax are also ranked beneath the Irons.
Uefa provide additional payments for clubs competing in Europe depending on their position in the coefficient table.
Uefa’s distribution documents state that the team ranked highest in the coefficient table earned an additional £3.5million
The new format of Uefa competitions means that a team’s coefficient ranking will change how much they earn from the new ‘value pillar’ system, which will distribute £716million across clubs competing in the 2024-25 Champions League.
West Ham can now cash in on European success
Qualifying for Europe has never been as important as it is this season for West Ham.
That will be the target for Lopetegui and if he is successful then West Ham can expect an improved payout from Uefa.
