Tottenham Hotspur have shown an interest in signing Hull City star Keane Lewis-Potter – but it’s West Ham who will soon open talks.

That’s according to The Athletic, who claim that West Ham are set to open negotiations with Hull in the near future.

It’s claimed that Hull are seeking a fee of around £18million for Lewis-Potter if they’re to sell this summer.

Brentford offered just £8million for Lewis-Potter last summer and Hull now stand to rake in more than twice that amount.

The Daily Mail noted in March that Tottenham were battling West Ham in the race for Lewis-Potter.

Yet with talks now seemingly imminent, it looks like the Hammers are taking the lead ahead of their London rivals.

Lewis-Potter, 21, has impressed in the Championship this season, bagging 11 goals and four assists.

Primarily a left-sided winger cutting in on his right foot, Lewis-Potter has caused mayhem for Premier League defenders.

Lewis-Potter has been so good that he has now earned a first cap for the England Under-21’s – and there should be many more to come.

West Ham now seemingly hope to bring Lewis-Potter to East London and team him up with Jarrod Bowen.

Bowen also made his name with Hull City before becoming a Premier League star with West Ham.

Lewis-Potter has admitted that Bowen was a key influence on him and praised the West Ham star for his help.

Compared to Eden Hazard by Hull coach Craig Fagan, Lewis-Potter is destined for Premier League action.

That could now come with West Ham as the Hammers consider lining up with Bowen on the right and Lewis-Potter on the left.

If Tottenham really do want to sign Lewis-Potter, they will need to come up with an offer soon with West Ham now at the front of the queue.
