West Ham United want Josip Juranovic
90Min reported last week that West Ham are interested in signing Celtic defender Josip Juranovic.
It was suggested that West Ham have been impressed with Juranovic as Celtic potentially look to sell the defender.
Celtic have already brought in Juranovic’s replacement by snapping up CF Montreal defender Alistair Johnston.
Johnston is seemingly arriving as a replacement for Juranovic and West Ham may have the inside track on signing the Croatian.
David Moyes has pounced to bring scout Mick Doherty to West Ham having previously worked together at Everton and Sunderland in years gone by.
Doherty left his position at Celtic over the summer and is now playing a key role in West Ham’s recruitment process ahead of January.
Doherty’s role at Celtic was to be First Team International and UK Scout between 2017 and 2022.
That means Doherty likely played a key part in Celtic’s deal to sign Juranovic from Legia Warsaw in 2021.
The 27-year-old has been impressive for Celtic at right back and left back since his arrival and it’s no surprise that Premier League clubs like West Ham are keen.
With Doherty on board, West Ham will surely know everything about Juranovic and his influence could be driving the Hammers’ interest when signing him once was such a huge success for Celtic.
