West Ham United are keen to bring Jesse Lingard back to the London Stadium, but Newcastle United allegedly have a better offer on the table.
That’s according to 90Min, who claim that Lingard is a man in demand ahead of the summer transfer window.
Lingard’s Manchester United contract ends this summer and there is no sign of a new deal being on offer.
The times is right for Lingard to move on and leave United in search of first-team playing time away from Old Trafford.
It’s now stated that Eddie Howe wants to push for Lingard’s signature this summer.
Newcastle did attempt to sign Lingard in January and whilst he was keen, United pulled the plug on any deal.
Howe is now pushing again and Newcastle seemingly have real hope of a deal.
West Ham unsurprisingly want to re-sign Lingard after his stunning loan spell in East London last season.
Lingard hit nine goals and four assists in just 16 games with West Ham, leading to Roy Keane calling him ‘outstanding’.
West Ham were always expected to launch a move for Lingard given his heroics there last season, but a move is in danger.
It’s claimed that Newcastle’s offer to Lingard is ‘significantly better’ than the terms West Ham are offering.

Newcastle can’t formalise a pre-contract agreement for Lingard or any other player in England just yet.
It therefore seems that Newcastle are indicating their intentions to Lingard’s representatives in the hope of a deal.
Newcastle may be able to throw some money around this summer thanks to the investment from PIF.
That means transfer battles with teams like West Ham may suddenly swing in their favour.
Lingard would have been a huge addition for Newcastle in January and would still improve Howe’s side right now.
Atletico Madrid and AC Milan are keen too, but it sounds like Newcastle have hope of finally signing Lingard after all.
