The West Ham United man conceded four goals last time out during his side’s poor showing against Manchester City.
West Ham stopper Adrian spoke exclusively to the club’s official website following his side’s woeful showing against Manchester City in the Premier League at the weekend, and suggested that he is hoping to keep his place for Saturday’s trip to Leicester City.
The Spaniard has played second fiddle to Joe Hart for the most part this season, making 16 Premier League starts, and he has hardly set the world alight when selected by David Moyes.
The Hammers have three games left this season, and with just three points separating them from 18th placed Southampton, these must be extremely worrying times for the club’s fans.
Moyes’ men will have to be defensively strong and resolute against the Foxes at the weekend, and Adrian told the club’s official website how he is hoping to get the nod between the sticks for Saturday’s clash:
“I tried to help as many times as possible. It’s hard when you concede four goals and you can’t be happy with the result, but I’m happy to be back in the team and playing again after a few games out. I will work hard to give the manager a decision for the next one and I hope I can play until the end of the season.”
The 31-year-old has just one more year remaining on his current deal with West Ham, and he will have to show a lot more than he has done of late, if he is to extend his stay in east London.
