West Ham United flop and Portugal defender Jose Fonte has done something good this season after all.
The former Southampton centre back has failed to impress since an £8 million move to East London back in January.
Fonte was something of a panic signing by Slaven Bilic as he sought experience to replace Angelo Ogbonna who required season-ending knee surgery at the turn of the year.
One or two decent performances have been the exception rather than the rule for the Portuguese, who has even admitted himself he has not lived up to expectations, as reported by the likes of the Evening Standard.
The former Crystal Palace defender turns 34 next season but still has two years to run on his deal and is reportedly on a big contract.

He forms part of an ageing backline with James Collins also turning 34 next season and the club’s only new signing of the summer Pablo Zabaleta turning 33.
Fonte was generally poor for Portugal as they finished third at the Confederations Cup.
But that did not stop him enjoying his downtime with his international teammates as they recorded an impressive header bin challenge on video.
The effort has gone viral online and shows Fonte getting involved with the likes of Monaco star Joao Moutinho and Barcelona’s Andre Gomes as members of the squad complete 13 headers before landing the ball in a small bin while the West Ham man holds it steady.
Bilic wanted more leaders when he signed Fonte and has added to that particular mix by bringing in the respected Zabaleta.

But should West Ham look to exploit the desperation of some of the Premier League’s newly-promoted sides or those concerned primarily with survival to offload the defender?
A cut price deal of between £3-4m for a club like Bournemouth, Watford, Huddersfield, Brighton and even Newcastle could appeal while Burnley would also surely be in the market for experience having lost Michael Keane to Everton.
It would also lessen the impact of that massively overpriced deal the Hammers struck with the Saints back in January.
