West Ham United want Filip Kostic but their first bid for the Eintracht Frankfurt star has been rejected by the Bundesliga side.
The Hammers completed a big move on Tuesday night, signing Sassuolo striker Gianluca Scamacca in a big-money deal.
That’s a major breakthrough for West Ham, who have been desperately chasing striking additions of late.
David Moyes will now want another winger to supply Scamacca with quality service – but their top target is proving difficult to land.
West Ham United want Filip Kostic
West Ham have been focusing their attention on signing Eintracht Frankfurt wide man Kostic.
The Sun now report that West Ham have offered £10million with £2.5million in add-ons for Kostic, who is into the final year of his contract.
However, Frankfurt have rejected that bid and are now demanding around £16million for their Serbian star.
West Ham are allegedly confident of finding a compromise between the two valuations as they push to bring Kostic to East London.
The next challenge would be convincing Kostic to actually join, which doesn’t sound all that easy.

Kostic will become a free agent in a year’s time and will likely have his pick of many clubs next summer.
Kostic is also set to play in the Champions League with Frankfurt this season having won the Europa League – beating West Ham in the semi-finals on their way.
It’s suggested that West Ham may need to pay Kostic more than £100,000-a-week in order to tempt him over to East London.
With seven goals and 15 assists across all competitions last season, Kostic showed his attacking ability to devastating effect.
Capable of playing as a winger or wing back, Kostic can provide versatility to West Ham if they get a deal done.
The first bid being rejected is a setback, but West Ham aren’t a million miles away from adding a quality winger to go along with Scamacca.
