Trevor Sinclair believes Tammy Abraham would be a big hit at West Ham United while telling talkSPORT (28 April, 12.30pm) Arsenal could also make a move for the £40 million Chelsea striker.

At this stage, no-one expected to see a talented England international appear in the starting XI ahead of Chelsea’s biggest game of the season – the Champions League semi-final first leg against Real Madrid.

That statement alone shows how far Abraham has fallen under Thomas Tuchel – from first-choice number nine to bench-warming afterthought.

The academy graduate has started just two of a potential 22 games since Tuchel replaced Frank Lampard in late January – and he was hooked at half-time in both.

According to The Telegraph, Chelsea won’t stand in Abraham’s way if they receive a bid in the region of £40 million this summer, with West Ham, Southampton, Aston Villa and Newcastle all interested (TEAMtalk).

And, for Sinclair, two clubs stand out as obvious destinations for a physical, penalty-box poacher capable of surviving on scraps and dining out on close-range tap-ins.

“I think he’d be a great match for the (Hammers). It’s what they want and it’s what they need. I think the West Ham fans would love him,” says Sinclair, the former England and Irons ace.

“Another team that’s slightly off-piste, I think Arsenal could do with him. A London club. (Alexandre) Lacazette is getting older. (Abraham) would bring something slightly different with his height.

“He’s mobile, he’s got good feet. I think he could be a good pick for Arsenal. He’s obviously a talented player. I’m a big fan and I just want him to play football.

“There will be plenty in the queue for (his) signature.”

Despite a paucity of game time, Abraham has still scored 12 goals this season, adding to his tally of 18 from the previous campaign.
