West Ham United seem to have turned their season around in recent weeks.

When writing his regular column for the club’s official website, Hammers co-chairman David Sullivan expressed his delight at the club’s recent turnaround in form and results, and spoke of his hopes of bringing in more new faces before the transfer window slams shut on January 31st.

West Ham’s win over Middlesbrough on Saturday took them to 10th position in the league table, eight points adrift of seventh-placed Everton, and things are now starting to look up for Slaven Bilic’s men.

The Croatian’s side was undoubtedly buoyed by the signing of Jose Fonte from Southampton on Friday, and the continuing saga concerning Dimitri Payet seems to have had a positive effect on the club, bringing the squad as a whole closer together.

And Sullivan wrote his column for WHUFC.com, explaining his excitement at the prospect of welcoming Manchester City to the Olympic Stadium on February 1st, hopefully with the addition of further new signings:

“We will all go in to that match buoyed by our last two performances and, I hope, with further new signings, which we hope to make between now and the end of the transfer window. The market is challenging, but we are positive and will work around the clock to secure the right players to take us forward.”

One of those signings that Sullivan is talking about is expected to be Brentford striker Scott Hogan, with Sky Sports reporting that a deal to bring the 24-year-old to East London could be completed within the next 48 hours.
