West Ham United fans want academy product Toni Martinez to start on Tuesday night as the Hammers go up against Shrewsbury Town in the FA Cup third-round replay at the London Stadium.

The 20-year-old striker made his West Ham debut last week during the 0-0 draw against League One outfit Shrewsbury, coming off the bench to replace Mexico international Javier Hernandez in the 71st minute.

The former Oxford United loanee looked sharp when he came on, but he failed to follow up his debut with a place in the West Ham side on Saturday during David Moyes’ 4-1 win over Huddersfield.

However, with Andy Carroll still not deemed fit and Hernandez being sent home from training on Monday due to illness, Martinez could be given the chance to lead the Hammers attack into battle against Paul Hirst’s side.

Now, West Ham fans want Spaniard Martinez to replace the sidelined duo, after the former Valencia forward has notched up 11 goals in 16 league and cup outings for the Hammers reserve side.
