A number of West Ham United fans have taken to Twitter to call for Mark Noble to be drafted into the England squad following Fabian Delph’s withdrawal due to injury.
The 29-year-old sustained a hamstring injury late on during the Toffees’ loss at Burnley and as such has dropped out of the squad and is being assessed by the Premier League club’s medical staff.
Admittedly, a statement from the Football Association said “no further replacements are planned at this moment” and Three Lions boss Gareth Southgate is set to continue his preparations for their upcoming games with a 24-man squad.
However, should England decide to draft in someone in Delph’s place, then the West Ham fanbase has urged Southgate to pick Noble, who despite his talents, attitude and longevity in the game, has never been called up to his nation’s senior squad, with the Under-21s his highest level (Transfermarkt).
Here is some of the Hammers’ reaction on social media regarding the £6.3m-valued ace (Transfermarkt):
England take on Czech Republic and Bulgaria in Euro 2020 qualifying this month, while November sees another international break with Montenegro and Kosovo their next opponents.
