West Ham scraped past sixth-tier side Kidderminster Harriers in the fourth round of the FA Cup, with two late goals in normal time and extra-time saving David Moyes’ side.

After West Ham went a goal down in the opening half, a stoppage-time equaliser from Declan Rice forced the game into extra time, before a 121st minute Jarrod Bowen winner snatched a historic FA Cup result away from Kidderminster.

Indeed, it was a sucker-punch for Kidderminster, who were moments away from one of the FA Cup’s greatest upsets against West Ham. Yet one player who had a real day to forget was Issa Diop.

The French centre-back, who West Ham signed in £22m in 2018 according to BBC Sport, was hooked off half-time as the defender had a stinker of a match against Kidderminster.

To make matters worse for West Ham supporters, Diop was reportedly close to leaving the club, with L’Equipe claiming that the former Ligue 1 star was in talks to join Newcastle United.

Indeed, as we know, Diop remained in east London. Yet following his disasterclass against Kidderminster, West Ham fans on social media were calling for why the defender wasn’t sold to Newcastle in the window.

West Ham fans rage at Diop after horrorshow against Kidderminster

With West Ham into the next round, it is likely that Diop will feature again in the competition with fixture congestion becoming a real problem for the Irons in the coming weeks.

Yet despite eventually coming out with the win, West Ham supporters on social media were fuming with how Diop performed against Kidderminster, with some fans calling for the defender to be sold to Newcastle.

Here’s what some West Ham fans had to say about Diop’s links to Newcastle following his display in the FA Cup on Twitter…
