West Ham United’s early-season troubles have subsided somewhat in recent weeks.
Previously down near the bottom of the Premier League table, the Hammers currently sit 15th in the standings, six points clear of the bottom three.
The 4-0 thrashing by Manchester City late last month was followed up by a morale-boosting 3-0 triumph away at Newcastle United on Saturday.
Javier Hernandez impressed by scoring a brace, while Felipe Anderson grabbed his fifth of the season in second-half injury time.
Pablo Zabaleta, meanwhile, put in another solid performance for West Ham at St James’ Park, keeping the tricky Kenedy at bay for much of the game and helping his side to a clean sheet.
The Argentine defender is widely cherished by the Hammers faithful and has made a huge impression since his move from Manchester City in 2017.

However, Zabaleta has reportedly been considering retirement at the end of the season, according to Spanish outlet Sport, with his contract up at the end of the season.
The 33-year-old’s post-match tweet and West Ham’s equivalent were met with positive reaction by fans, many of whom called for him to pen a one-year extension:
