West Ham United take on bitter rivals Tottenham Hotspur for the third time this season after the two sides met eachother in the Carabao Cup round of 16 – and Hammers fans want Pedro Obiang to make way for Declan Rice.
The Hammers travel across London to the home of English football, as they look to produce a repeat of the last time they visited Wembley which saw Andre Ayew score a brace and Angelo Ogbonna secure a 3-2 win despite being two down.
David Moyes’ side will come into the game in buoyant mood after beating West Bromwich Albion on Tuesday night, coming from behind to win 2-1 thanks to target man Andy Carroll’s impressive brace.
However, Hammers fans were disillusioned with the performance of Spaniard Pedro Obiang and fans have called on Moyes to drop the 25-year-old, despite being a mainstay of the side after playing in 17 of West Ham’s 21 league matches.
Instead, London Stadium supporters want to see 18-year-old academy product Declan Rice to start over the former Sampdoria midfielder, with his partner likely to be Mark Noble following the skipper’s impressive display on Tuesday.
One fan even asked West Ham if they could send Obiang and teammate Cheikhou Kouyate “backpacking to Mars”, with many desperate to see fan favourite Rice start instead as he “plays with passion”.
