Benayoun, who began his Premier League journey with the Hammers, has retired aged 38.

Some West Ham fans have taken to Twitter to pay tribute to Yossi Benayoun, who has announced his retirement from football at the age of 38.
The Israel international has played for a number of Premier League clubs throughout his career but began his journey in English football at Upton Park.
Benayoun had two spells with West Ham, first joining the club in 2005 from Racing Santander before going to Liverpool in 2007, and again on loan in 2012.
According to Transfermarkt, the midfielder made 78 appearances in total in the claret and blue, scoring eight goals and registering five assists.
As mentioned by Optajoe, Benayoun scored hat-tricks in each of the Premier League, Champions League and FA Cup during his time with Liverpool.
This is an achievement only matched by Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero and Tottenham Hotspur forward Harry Kane.

Benayoun also played for Arsenal, Chelsea and Queens Park Rangers during his time in England.
He then returned to Israel in 2014 and turned out for several sides in the following five years, the last of which was Beitar Jerusalem.
West Ham’s official Twitter account posted a video clip of one of his best goals for the club against Fulham:
Some Irons faithful duly responded on the social media platform with praiseworthy comments:
