A number of West Ham United fans have taken to Twitter to praise Nathan Holland for his impressive goalscoring display in the Hammers Under-23s 4-2 win over Sunderland U23s in Sunday’s Premier League 2 second division clash.

Dmitri Halajko’s charges raced into the lead as Joe Powell played the ball across the six-yard area for Anthony Scully to tap home with just three minutes on the clock, and the goalscorer soon turned provider when he linked up with the onrushing Nathan Holland, who made no mistake with his finish.

The 21-year-old then grabbed his second and West Ham’s third in the 23rd minute with a clinical strike from 12 yards out and, even though Sunderland grabbed two goals back either side of half-time, Dan Kemp’s square ball in the box was tapped by Scully into the unguarded Black Cats net late on.

Holland now has five goals and four assists in just eight appearances – his tally after the 4-3 win over Middlesbrough was three goals and four assists – and his efforts have helped West Ham to the top of the table with 19 points from seven games.

Here is what some Hammers fans said on social media regarding Holland’s latest heroics:
