West Ham United need new signings before the transfer window closes, but few could have predicted Philippe Coutinho being linked.
The Hammers did beat Newcastle United 4-2 on Sunday afternoon, but David Moyes still needs to find new recruits for the Europa League.
Jesse Lingard continues to be linked with the club, but there have been surprise links with an even bigger name.
The Mirror reported on Sunday that agent Kia Joorabchian has offered Barcelona playmaker Philippe Coutinho to three Premier League clubs.
Leicester City, Wolverhampton Wanderers and West Ham are believed to be the three clubs in question, with Barcelona willing to supplement the wages to get him out.
West Ham’s history with Joorabchian is… mixed, to say the least, given that he was the main character in the Carlos Tevez and Javier Mascherano saga.
Coutinho was a Premier League star with Liverpool but has struggled to hit the same height with Barcelona, and the cash-strapped giants need to move him on.

West Ham fans have been reacting to these rumours about a move for Coutinho, and they seem pretty split on the idea.
Some don’t want Coutinho at all, believing he wouldn’t even get in the West Ham side right now and isn’t as good as Said Benrahma.
Others think Coutinho would be an ‘unreal’ signing, urging West Ham to make it happen if there’s even a chance of a deal.
