West Ham United have handed a new deal to Arthur Masuaku.

The Hammers will no doubt look to tie Manuel Lanzini down to a new contract, but one deal has gone through this week – and it’s one some may not have expected.
West Ham announced on Monday that left back Arthur Masuaku has now signed a new contract to stay with the club until 2024.
The 25-year-old Masuaku joined the club from Olympiacos in 2016, arriving as competition for Aaron Cresswell – and even three years on, debates rage on over who is the better left back.
Masuaku has often struggled at left back, impressing further forward thanks to his pace and technical ability, where his defensive deficiencies can be masked.
Towards the end of last season though, Masuaku showed some promise at left back, and that’s enough for Manuel Pellegrini and the club to hand him a new deal.
West Ham fans have now been reacting to the news, with some happy as they feel Masuaku is an exciting player who has shown his commitment to the club and has a big season ahead of him.
Others aren’t quite so impressed, believing Pellegrini has made a ‘daft’ move as Masuaku is ‘useless’, leaving a real divide in the fanbase over whether this is a smart move or a mistake.
