West Ham United beat AFC Wimbledon 3-1 on Tuesday night.

West Ham United’s poor start to the season almost became a whole lost worse on Tuesday night as they struggled whilst beating AFC Wimbledon 3-1 in the Carabao Cup.
The Hammers have lost to Liverpool, Bournemouth and Arsenal to open their season, and fans were desperate for a positive result as they made the trip to Kingsmeadow for their Carabao Cup clash with League One side Wimbledon.
However, Manuel Pellegrini’s side got off to the worst possible start as Joe Pigott headed home a second minute corner, stunning the Hammers in the early stages.
Rod McDonald’s first half sending off did give West Ham hope, but it took until the second half for West Ham to take advantage, with centre back Issa Diop slamming home a long-range strike.
Angelo Ogbonna then turned home a Robert Snodgrass corner to put West Ham ahead, and Javier Hernandez sealed a 3-1 victory in added time, but it was far from convincing for the Hammers.
Pellegrini will at least be hoping that this victory can give his squad a lift ahead of this weekend’s game against Wolverhampton Wanderers, but one player didn’t stake a claim for a starting role.

Striker Lucas Perez was handed his first start for West Ham since a £4million deadline day move from Arsenal, but the Spaniard was hauled off after 81 ineffective minutes.
West Ham fans took to Twitter to slam the 29-year-old, suggesting that he is already looking like a waste of money even at such a low fee, with some claiming he is a Championship standard striker and was non-existent, lost and awful against Wimbledon, with supporters far from impressed.
