West Ham United lost 4-1 at Liverpool on Saturday afternoon.

West Ham United slipped to a second defeat in three games this weekend, as they were thrashed 4-1 by Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday afternoon.
The Hammers beat Watford 2-0 in their last outing two weeks ago, but were up against it from the off at Anfield as Mohamed Salah hit the post early on for Jurgen Klopp’s men.
Contract rebel Emre Can did put Liverpool in front in the first half though, heading home Salah’s corner before the Egyptian found the net himself in the second half, finishing smartly via Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Can turned provider for the third, clipping a ball through for Roberto Firmino, who rounded Adrian before tucking home, and whilst Michail Antonio did pull one back for West Ham, Sadio Mane rounded off a 4-1 win for the hosts by tapping in Andrew Robertson’s cross.
It was an afternoon to forget for West Ham, and whilst a host of players failed to impress at Anfield, fans were particularly unimpressed with January signing Joao Mario’s contribution.
The Portugal international, 25, joined West Ham on loan from Inter Milan until the end of the season last month, with many fans excited about bringing in a midfielder who had starred at Euro 2016 before losing his way in Italy.

However, having been dispossessed in the build-up to the third Liverpool goal and offered little in general play, fans took to Twitter to slam Mario, accusing him of being ‘absolutely useless’ and and ‘awful’ in a performance described as a ‘disaster’.
Others simply couldn’t believe that Inter had paid £40million for Mario in 2016 (Sky Sports), and whilst some can appreciate his ability, they simply don’t think he suits the system or believe he is committed enough right now after a torrid display.
