The Frenchman was a club hero at West Ham United, until he demanded a transfer away from the club just over two years ago.

West Ham posted a video to their official Twitter account yesterday, showing Dimitri Payet’s wonderful free-kick against Manchester United in the FA Cup on March 13th 2016, and many Hammers fans responded, praising the Frenchman for what he did in general for the football club.
Payet, 31, left West Ham for Marseille in January 2017, for a fee believed to be worth somewhere int he region of £25 million, having demanded a transfer away from east London, and in the process, he severely damaged his legacy with the Hammers fans.
During his stint with West Ham, the France international racked up an impressive 15 goals and 23 assists in 60 appearances in all competitions.
And despite Payet’s acrimonious exit from the London Stadium 26 months ago, many West Ham fans surely still miss the talented play-maker, and the magic that he used to produce on a consistent basis.

Some Hammers fans took to Twitter in response to their club’s official tweet about the mercurial winger, and many of them admitted that they would love him back in east London…
