West Ham youngster has been called into England’s under-20 squad.

West Ham’s goalkeeping situation has been part of their problem all season, with Joe Hart and Adrian sharing the gloves.

Both stoppers have played 15 games each, with David Moyes unable to pick decisively between the pair.

Long term there is potential light at the end of the tunnel, with 20-year-old goalkeeper Nathan Trott (above) making impressive progress.

Trott has been a regular for the under-23s this season and his form has been recognised by England, with the club website confirming he has been called into the England under-20 squad.

The youngster expressed his excitement on Twitter at his call-up.

England’s under-20s won the World Cup last summer and getting the call-up is a real honour for the young Hammers goalkeeper.

Fans responded by offering encouraging messages, urging him to break into West Ham’s first team.

Trott did make the bench for West Ham back in December for a Premier League game, showing he is not far from a first team call.

Joe Hart is unlikely to be signed permanently this summer, and while the club’s plans at the position are unclear beyond that, it would be smart for West Ham to promote Trott to become their back-up and give him a chance to shine in cup competitions.
