The Hammers have signed Benfica and Portugal youth ace Mesaque Dju on a free transfer.

West Ham United have officially announced the signing of Benfica winger Mesaque Dju on a free transfer.
The Portugal youth international joins the Premier League outfit on a free transfer from the Lisbon-based club, having agreed a three-and-a-half-year contract at the London Stadium.
Dju is currently a member of the Portugal Under-20s squad and was part of the Selecao side that won last year’s European Under-19 Championship and the Under-17 Euros in 2016.
The 19-year-old will begin his stint at West Ham in the Under-23s, which are coached by Liam Manning and Steve Potts, according to the club website.
Academy director Terry Wesley had some very kind words to say about Dju, admitting that he is a player that the Hammers had been scouting for a while and are pleased to finally have him on their books.
“He is a dynamic player with great pace and power, a little bit like Michail Antonio,” he told the official West Ham website.

“He is six-foot plus, two-footed, strong and can deliver with quality from the left or the right, and could even develop in to a number nine with his attributes, which we believe could make him a Premier League player.”
After the East Londoners confirmed the news on their website, some fans took to Twitter to express their thoughts:
Dju joins another talented Portuguese youngster at the club in 21-year-old forward Xande Silva, who made his first-team debut in the Premier League at Burnley in December.
He is expected to be part of the Portugal squad which will contest this summer’s Under-20 World Cup in Poland.
