England sent reported West Ham target Yerry Mina and Colombia out of the World Cup.

Yerry Mina starred for Colombia in their penalty-shootout loss to England in the World Cup’s Round of 16 on Tuesday night – and West Ham United fans were particularly impressed after being linked with the Barcelona defender.
Mina, 23, managed just six appearances for Barcelona last season but has shown that he has huge potential with three excellent performances at the World Cup for Colombia.

The former Palmeiras defender was on the bench for Colombia’s first game which saw the South Americans lose to Japan, but he since scored three World Cup goals in three games – including the winner in a 1-0 win over Senegal.

He found the back of the net in the 93rd minute to send the last 16 tie into extra time against England, with Kieran Trippier failing to prevent the header crossing the line as he only managed to divert the ball onto the bar and into the net.

Spanish outlet Don Balon claimed last month that West Ham were interested in signing Mina from Barcelona, with the club still said to be in the market for a centre-back despite signing Issa Diop for a club-record fee from Toulouse.
West Ham fans reacted on Twitter to Mina’s performance despite it coming against England, praising the Barca defender and urging the Hammers to go out and buy the young star.
