West Ham beat Brentford on Thursday afternoon in a behind-closed-doors friendly.

West Ham United fans have questioned the attitude of striker Lucas Perez after the summer signing failed to score from six yards out in a behind-closed-doors friendly against Brentford on Thursday.
The 30-year-old striker played 90 minutes of the 2-1 win, which saw Robert Snodgrass and Chicharito find the back of the net to cancel out Emiliano’s equaliser.
Fringe players Adrian, Conor Coventry, Nathan Holland and Perez all started the match, as the Hammers earned a narrow win over the Championship side at Griffin Park.
West Ham posted a video on their official Twitter feed of the goals, which saw former Arsenal man Perez hammer the underside of the cross bar with the goalkeeper in no-mans-land, in the lead up to Snodgrass’ opener.
Perez has managed just 85 minutes of Premier League action this season spread across four substitute appearances. He has scored for the Hammers in the Carabao Cup, netting a brace against Macclesfield and Tottenham.
The ex-Deportivo La Coruna striker joined West Ham for a reported fee of £5million, where he has signed a a three-year contract worth £80,000-a-week deal (Spotrac). Only Chicharito, Marko Arnautovic and Andy Carroll are paid more.
West Ham fans blasted the striker for his attitude and body language after his miss, and then Snodgrass’ goal. One fan posted: “Body language when he hit the crossbar is very disappointing.”
