West Ham United suffered an embarrassing 4-0 home defeat to Liverpool this weekend courtesy of two goals from Philippe Coutinho and one apiece from Daniel Sturridge and Divock Origi.

The Reds were good value for their victory, with few Hammers players impressing on the day and questions asked ahead of the summer transfer window.

While Slaven Bilic’s side have little left to play for this season, they would not have wanted to go down so heavily to a Liverpool side fighting for a top-four finish.

West Ham ended Tottenham Hotspur’s slim title hopes earlier this month but their latest encounter was one to forget for the vast majority of those in attendance at the London Stadium.

One West Ham player who could leave the field with his head held high was summer signing Sofiane Feghouli.
