West Ham United fans on Twitter are confused over the club’s signing of David Martin.

The Hammers have snapped up the 33-year-old goalkeeper after being released by Millwall.

On Friday, West Ham kicked off their transfer window by signing Roberto, who is also a goalkeeper and is also 33.

And suffice to say that fans of the East London club are miffed by the acquisition of two aging shot stoppers in the space of three days.

Martin, the son of West Ham legend Alvin, spent two years with the Irons’ bitter rivals after joining in 2017, having been with MK Dons previously since 2010.

The Londoner, who stands at 6’1, also spent four years on Liverpool’s books, but never made a Premier League appearance for the newly-crowned European champions.

It’s a battle between him and Roberto to be Lukasz Fabianski’s understudy. The Polish keeper was voted as West Ham’s best player last season, so there’s no way Martin or the Spaniard will be displacing him.
