West Ham were lacklustre against Brighton as they lost 3-1 in their latest Premier League clash on Saturday at the Amex Stadium.

The Seagulls were struggling recently, as they have not won a league fixture since December 23, but on this occasion, they produced an inspired performance in front of the home crowd.

Glenn Murray opened the scoring for the home side within the first 10 minutes. Javier Hernandez scored a brilliant goal to restore parity in the 30th minute.

However, a moment of brilliance from Jose Izquierdo saw Brighton take the lead once again in the second half. Pascal Gross sealed the tie in Brighton’s favour with a fantastic strike from 20 yards.

West Ham fans were not impressed with some of the defensive fragility shown by the team during the match, and they criticised the performances of Declan Rice and Sam Byram.

Byram, 24, made four tackles, two interceptions, and eight clearances during the match, and in terms of stats, he was one of the better players on the pitch.

However, his decision-making has come into question at times, and many West Ham fans questions whether he is good enough to play in the Premier League.
