West Ham United are reportedly keen on Yann M’Vila.

West Ham United have suffered two defeats in a row, with European football seemingly fading away – and that may spark major summer business.
The Hammers have shown fleeting signs of progress under Manuel Pellegrini this season, but after a mixed transfer window last summer, smart additions are needed this time.
Carlos Sanchez and Jack Wilshere – two players signed last summer – have both been crocked for most of the season, and with questions over Pedro Obiang’s future, another midfielder should be targeted.
Now, L’Equipe report that West Ham are interested in snapping up Saint-Etienne star Yann M’Vila, who has been thriving back in his native France after a spell with Rubin Kazan.
The 28-year-old was once given a huge billing at Rennes, but hasn’t really lived up to his hype, spending most of his career with Rubin Kazan, Inter Milan and even Sunderland.
Some may remember M’Vila from his Sunderland loan spell, as he really impressed on Wearside but never returned to England, despite fans being desperate for him to stay.

M’Vila’s performances with Saint-Etienne have attracted interest, and despite his deal only ending in 2022, West Ham are now thought to be keen on luring the midfielder back to the Premier League.
The rumour has received a less-than-positive response from fans on Twitter though, as some believe that West Ham are years behind the curve on M’Vila, feeling that it would be a joke to sign him now and ‘so poor’.
Others think he could be an upgrade on Obiang, but the general consensus is that West Ham need better than M’Vila to move forward at this point, given that M’Vila is approaching his 30’s.
