West Ham United’s shaky patch of form continued on Saturday afternoon, as they drew 1-1 at home to Sheffield United.

The Hammers came into the game without a win in their last three, and whilst a game against a new newly-promoted side appeared to be winnable, the Blades have been impressive this season.

West Ham did snatch the lead in the first half, with Andriy Yarmolenko feeding the impressive Robert Snodgrass to slot home the opener.

However, they couldn’t find a way past Chris Wilder’s side to get the second, and eventually saw Lys Mousset bag the equaliser in the second half.

Having been talked about as a top six contender after beating Manchester United last month, West Ham have now won just one of the last six games, meaning they’re actually in some frustrating form.

Boss Manuel Pellegrini will be looking for answers, but he made the strange decision to drop Ryan Fredericks on Saturday, despite the right back being in superb form this season.

Veteran Pablo Zabaleta bizarrely came in to the side, and fans weren’t impressed with the Argentinian’s performance, feeling he didn’t offer anything going forward.

Others think Zabaleta is finished at 34, and can’t wait for him to leave at the end of the season, whilst many just suggested they thought Pellegrini’s decision to start him out of nowhere was nothing short of ‘baffling’.
