The Hammers have partnered with IT company Vanquish Technologies, with the club statement prompting some fans have a cheeky dig.

With football being such a global sport with billions across the world invested in aspects of it, it’s no surprise that sponsors are eager to jump on the bandwagon.
From its fairly humble origins of sponsoring the front of a team’s shirt, companies are now willing to pay big money to have their names emblazoned pretty much everywhere relating to a club, a stadium or a competition.
As West Ham United is a Premier League club with plenty of history and tradition, plus a sizeable, loyal fanbase, they will obviously be attracting many corporate eyeballs, and this week, they proudly announced their latest partnership.
Vanquish Technologies, a privately held IT business with operations in London, Dubai, Cape Town and Florida, is now the Hammers’ official technology partner, according to a statement on the club’s website.
Founded in 2011, the company website says they operate in the manufacturing, healthcare, sports, leisure and hospitality industries, “providing bespoke technologies which enhance the customer, consumer and fan experience”.
When the business side of football comes together with the often traditional club fanbase, then you can get some amusing comments out of it, and following West Ham’s statement, some fans were eager to indulge in a bit of banter on Twitter:
