Issa Diop once again impressed, but was unable to prevent West Ham United falling to defeat against Tottenham Hotspur.
A number of West Ham fans have taken to Twitter to laud Issa Diop after the centre-back’s superb display in Manuel Pellegrini’s side’s 1-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.
The Hammers suffered their second consecutive loss, but were hardly put to the sword by Spurs at the London Stadium, with Marko Arnautovic forcing Hugo Lloris into a number of fine stops.
But the defeat could have perhaps been worse had it not been for Diop’s performance. The summer signing was fantastic for the Irons, keeping Harry Kane extremely quiet and making a number of excellent challenges.
It was a stunning display from the young centre-back, and it has left a number of West Ham fans fearing for his future with the club as they are not sure that they will be able to hold onto him for that long.
The 21-year-old has made a brilliant start to life in the Premier League, and several supporters suggested that he is quickly establishing himself as one of the most important players within Pellegrini’s squad with his current form.
It is safe to say that many Hammers fans are not too concerned right now about where they will finish as Diop is proving to be one of a number of excellent signings made during the summer. But they are worried that his West Ham career may not be the longest if this form continues for much longer.
