West Ham United have been bizarrely linked with Emmanuel Adebayor.

West Ham United will be in the market for a number of strikers this summer, but the latest rumour seems completely bizarre.
The Hammers have allowed Andy Carroll and Lucas Perez to move on, and with question marks over Javier Hernandez’s future, seeing three strikers come in wouldn’t be a shock.
Goalscorers are often expensive, and that means that West Ham may have to look at a loan or a free transfer, just to beef up their options without breaking the bank.
However, the latest name hasn’t gone down well at all. The Sun bizarrely reported on Friday that West Ham are one of a number of clubs interested in signing Emmanuel Adebayor on a free transfer.
This one seems absolutely pie-in-the sky, as whilst Adebayor is available for free, that’s because Turkish side Basaksehir have released him at the end of his contract.
The 35-year-old striker is now looking for a new club, and this rumour does smack of his agent attempting to drum up interest in the Togolese striker as his career approaches its end.

West Ham wanted Adebayor in 2015, but as reported by The Guardian, Daniel Levy blocked the striker from leaving Spurs for West Ham because he didn’t want to let him join a bitter rival.
West Ham fans have now taken to Twitter to beg that the rumour isn’t true, urging the club to stop if they’re even thinking about signing Adebayor, believing he’s past it and shouldn’t be anywhere near the London Stadium – and we’re guessing he won’t be, with this rumour surely nowhere close to being true.
