A disappointed David Moyes spoke to The London Evening Standard about Jeremy Ngakia’s future at the club.
The Hammers have been trying to negotiate a new contract for the young right-back for quite some time now. Ngakia’s current deal expires in the next three weeks and it has been reported that he has refused to sign even a short-term extension until the end of this season.
Moyes described the young man’s decision as a ‘kick in the teeth’ and claimed that he was making a mistake by deciding against staying at West Ham. (Click here to read more)
The Guardian reported on Sunday that West Ham’s £5,000-a-week offer was rejected by Ngakia. Football London claim that the defender’s camp are holding out for £20,000 a week, something which the Hammers aren’t prepared to do.

West Ham fans aren’t quite sure over who to blame for Ngakia’s contract situation. Should the club have done better to tie him down to a new deal a long time ago or is he wrong to jump ship just for the sake of more money?
Either way, it almost seems certain now that Ngakia will leave West Ham at the end of this month, and Hammers fans are not happy.
Here’s how a few of them reacted to Moyes’ comments about the defender.
