West Ham scored a narrow victory over West Brom last night.

A timely brace from Andy Carroll last night inspired West Ham to victory over West Brom after falling behind to a first half goal from James McClean.

The result was a big one for West Ham after gaining just one point from their last two games.

It was a big result for the Hammers ahead of the match with rivals Tottenham Hotspur in two days time.

While the result was positive, the performance of midfielder Cheikhou Kouyate was a real concern.

Kouyate played all 90 minutes but struggled to make any sort of positive impact, getting caught out of position and failing the shield the defence.

Midfield partner Pedro Obiang was hooked at half-time for Mark Noble, but Kouyate was fortunate to stay on the pitch as his game did not improve in the second half.

Last season he was a key player for the Hammers but has gone backwards this season and supporters are growing frustrated.
