The West Ham United youngster is highly regarded in east London.
West Ham confirmed via their official Twitter account that Ben Johnson has signed a new deal that runs until the summer of 2022, and some Hammers fans took to the social media network in reaction to the news.
The 19-year-old made his senior debut for West Ham earlier this month away at Manchester City, and he is very highly rated at the London Stadium.
Johnson is a right-back by trade, but he has already shown that he can operate on the other side of defence, and he could be a really exciting player for the future.
He will have his work cut-out, however, if he is to break into the West Ham first team over the next year or so, with Ryan Fredericks and Pablo Zabaleta currently ahead of him in the right-back pecking order at the London Stadium.
