West Ham United came from two goals down to earn a 2-2 draw at home to Brighton and Hove Albion on Wednesday night.
The Hammers were looking to bounce back from a dismal defeat at Burnley, but weren’t exactly at their best against Brighton either.
After a dour first half, Brighton raced into a 2-0 lead early in the second period, with Dale Stephens and Shane Duffy scoring in quick succession.
However, West Ham hit back with two quick goals of their own, as Marko Arnautovic scored twice to haul the Hammers level.
Both sides pressed for a winner but couldn’t find it, as they had to settle for a point each after a frantic second half at the London Stadium.
West Ham were much improved after the break, as Manuel Pellegrini decided to hook striker Andy Carroll in favour of Lucas Perez.
Carroll took a nasty blow to the face in the first half and didn’t emerge for the second period, with West Ham now slamming him.
Many believe that Carroll simply isn’t good enough now, suggesting it’s painful to watch him and it’s time to go, with his £90,000-a-week contract up at the end of the season…
