West Ham United narrowly lost to Tottenham Hotspur this weekend.

West Ham United mounted a late fightback against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday, but it was ultimately not enough for Slaven Bilic’s side to take a share of the spoils.
The visitors took a three-goal lead courtesy of a brace from Harry Kane and a strike from Christian Eriksen, but goals from Javier Hernandez and Cheikhou Kouyate – either side of Serge Aurier’s red card – meant the Hammers were in it right up to the final whistle.

While Tottenham held out, there were plenty of positives for West Ham to take from this encounter, and if they play with the same attacking intent they should win plenty of games over the next few months.
That said, Bilic needs to work on his defence and full-back Aaron Cresswell came in for plenty of criticism, not for the first time in recent seasons.

Fellow full-back Arthur Masuaku is a fan favourite at the London Stadium and yet he started on the bench, ultimately replacing Jose Fonte with 16 minutes of normal-time remaining.
In his place, Cresswell did little to impress and the 27-year-old’s regular inclusions are fast going the way of skipper Mark Noble, whose presence in the starting XI ahead of players better suited to West Ham’s current predicament are overlooked.
The West Ham left-back has played every minute of the club’s last five league games and he looks like keeping his place for some time to come, even if he is undeserving of it.
