West Ham United are reportedly interested in a cut-price deal for Burnley winger Scott Arfield.

West Ham fans have been reacting on Twitter to reports coming from the Independent which suggested that the Hammers are considering making a January bid for Scott Arfield – and to say that the supporters are underwhelmed would probably be an understatement.

While David Moyes’ men are outside the bottom three in the Premier League, their position is still precarious so it is surely still essential that the Irons enjoy a good January transfer window and add further quality to their squad.

One of the players that Moyes reportedly wants is Arfield, who, according to the Independent, is out of contract at the end of the season at Turf Moor and has been offered fresh terms by the Clarets.

However, the Independent adds that West Ham are considering making a £2 million bid for the 29-year-old and are ready to offer an even better deal than the one that Burnley have put on the table for the Canada international.

Unfortunately, the reports have been met by an extremely negative reaction on social media, with many West Ham fans angry with the lack of ambition that the club appear to be showing with this pursuit.

The Hammers have been linked with a handful of big names in European football over the last couple of years, so to see a winger who boasts just one league assist since the start of last season and is unlikely to improve significantly in the future linked with a move to the London Stadium is extremely disappointing for the majority of the fans.

Here is the best of the reaction…
