West Ham United’s promising run of form came to a disappointing conclusion on Saturday.

A number of West Ham fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Ryan Fredericks’ display during their 2-0 defeat to Cardiff City on Saturday.
Fredericks went into the game having arguably been one of the Hammers’ most impressive performers in recent weeks. The summer signing had certainly taken his most recent chance in the side, and appeared to show the kind of form that hinted that Pablo Zabaleta was set to endure a quiet end to the campaign.
However, after the Irons’ trip to the Cardiff City Stadium at the weekend, it appears that some of the optimism surrounding Fredericks’ recent form has evaporated, with Manuel Pellegrini’s side losing against the relegation-threatened outfit.
One passage of play in particular saw the former Fulham man come in for a lot of criticism on social media. His poor attempt at a clearance allowed Junior Hoilett to get a cross in that ultimately allowed Victor Camarasa to bundle home the Bluebirds’ second. And replays showed it was Fredericks who had played the goalscorer onside before he found the back of the net.

It must be noted that some of the West Ham fans have slated some of those who have been too harsh in their assessments of Fredericks’ performance, but many agree that they want to see Zabaleta back in the team as soon as possible.
His defending has been criticised and some are not convinced that he is good enough to be a starting full-back in a Premier League side, while others were a lot less kind about the 26-year-old.

Here is how some of the West Ham fans reacted to Fredericks’ display…
