West Ham United’s Jonathan Calleri heads at goal
West Ham earned a 1-1 draw away to Astra Giurgiu last night, in their latest Europa League qualifier.
The score sets up an all important second leg at the London Stadium, where West Ham will fancy their chances.
West Ham’s Mark Noble scores their first goal with a penalty
Mark Noble scored for the Hammers from the penalty spot, before a late goal from Denis Alibec gave the hosts a face saving equaliser.
The match was notable for new signing Jonathan Calleri making his debut, with the Argentine getting up to speed and familiarising himself with his teammates before potentially featuring in the Premier League this weekend.
Promising defender Reece Burke also featured, playing all 90 minutes in defence as part of a makeshift back four with Angelo Ogbonna, Reece Oxford and Sam Byram.

Burke looked assured in his role, out of position at left-back, and showed signs of why he swept the individual awards last season on loan at League One side Bradford City.
His potential is one reason why the Hammers were comfortable letting James Tomkins leave without buying a replacement, and if he can step up to become a first team regular for the Hammers this season, it would be a major bonus.
